Do you remember buying these Balsa Wood planes with your pocket money? Great fun because they really flew.
Surprisingly they are still popular, this young lad demonstrates how to build a fly one!
As a child I had an Airfix kit for building with, but my brother had the Bayko set above. You had to insert rods into the base and slide the bricks over. The roof was normally in one piece, with Airfix you had to make the roof out of single tiles, like the real thing.
Remember the fun, or frustration that these chocolate vending machines used to give us in the past!
On Boxing Day there was a record turn out for the Boxing Day swim across the River Thames at Henley on Thames. Great to watch, they say the water was warmer than usual at 10c !
