Improvement to the Metropolitan Line off peak services

After my rant about Boris Johnson’s fare increases, which I do confess happens every year whoever is in charge of  Transport for London, praise is due.

For many years in order to get a train that calls at Rickmansworth,  Chesham and Amersham,  from North Harrow onwards, it has been necessary to catch a Watford train and change and wait at Moor Park Station.  I have often had to wait half an hour for a connecting train and there are many stairs to interchange form platform to platform.

It is a pure delight to me that the Chesham and Amersham trains do not run fast to Moor Park any more but stop all stations off peak times.  I know though that this is not popular with people who live beyond Moor Park Station, as it makes any off peak journey they make longer. It is difficult to please all the people all the time.

A lady on an LT bus did not have her Oyster Card and was charged the full non Oyster fare of £2.30 – this is an  increase of 10p on what was already a ridiculous fare.
