Pictorial miscellany

Your intrepid Waffler brings you snaps of everyday things to brighten up your weekend!

Last week there was a power failure locally to a small block of shops and flats, that obviously was quite serious and could not be fixed quickly.  Emergency power was laid on by the Electricity company in the form of a generator, and also they fed this from a massive tank on the roadside!

I think that is is magnificent how they re-surface roads so quickly.  It does however cause magnificent traffic jams and frustration from motorists.  This road looks fantastic with it’s new painted road markings, and gives a very smooth ride.  The recent cold and snow has created millions of potholes though that will not be filled up for ages.

I was amazed to see K9, one of Dr Who’s assistants, on a shelf in a local charity shop.  This model did not appear to have any electrical or mechanical parts, and was priced at £5
This saucy novel was found on the children’s book section in a local Oxfam Shop.  At least this Captain wears his underpants!

The death of a shopping trolley, seen today, a sad end for such a useful object. Fly tipping in fact!

An amusing cartoon seen in a paper last weekend – sorry if it is blurred, all these photos are from my mobile phone.
